Mutliplayer slot tournaments work by the addition of a few extra features to the single player slot machine versions. The "win box", in the bottom left hand corner, is the most important addition. It is here where your winnings collate during the tournament and your score will ultimately determine your finishing position (the highest score wins).
"Coins balance" shows how much of your credit you have remaining for a particular tournament. The starting amount depends on the type of game but all players start with the same figure. Coins deplete with every spin by the amount you bet and the number of paylines you select. It is possible to continue a game even when your credit expires. Simply topping up your coins by paying an additional fee can give you a real edge over your competitors and can be the difference between 1st and 5th and missing out on a bigger cash prize.
Equally important is the "play time" box. This feature, found to the right of the win box, displays just how much time is left for you to spend your coins. This can range between 5 mins and 15 mins depending on the type of game you register for. Keep a careful eye on this and all the other information boxes and play accordingly, i.e. there's no point having 2000 coins left and only 20 seconds to use them in. Plus monitor your position in the group by watching the leaderboard. Use it to decide whether it's worth topping up your credit by paying the continuation fee. The leaderboard will show your current position in relation to the two players above you (unless you're first) and the two players below you (unless you're last...).
