32Red Gold Cup
This weekend, the Ayr Gold Cup finds a temporary new home at Haydock – and 32Red are delighted to announce we’ll be sponsoring the event, which will now be called the 32Red Gold Cup! You can see the latest betting here.
Although the big race had to be postponed last week after a section of the course at Ayr was waterlogged, the event has now been rescheduled for this Saturday (September 30th).
The race will now take place at 3.15, with a maximum of 17 runners – and if you’re having a flutter, you’ll be able to watch the action on ITV4.
The BHA has sanctioned the new race, which will be a 6 furlong handicap, with a BHA spokesman commenting: “The BHA is grateful to Jockey Club Racecourses, the new sponsors 32Red and the Horserace Betting Levy Board for their contributions to saving this important and historic race.”
Matt Booth, 32Red Chief Commercial Officer, said: “We are delighted to work with the BHA, the Jockey Club, and in particular Haydock Park, to lend our support to this historic and important race in the racing calendar.
“Only 2 weeks ago the 32Red brand was seen at Haydock for the 32Red Sprint Cup where we saw an exceptional sprinting performance from Harry’s Angel. I would like to wish the connections of all horses that make the cut the very best of luck and everyone at 32Red is greatly looking forward to a competitive day’s racing.”
