Luke Morris: A reproduction of that Thirsk win gives him definite chances

2.25pm Doncaster

Wings Of The Rock

He hasn’t disappointed in two starts for me, winning at Nottingham and when a creditable fourth to Havana Grey in the Molecomb. But he clearly has an awful lot to find with that Goodwood winner and Heartache, and he does look up against it.

Dagueneau

I don’t know anything about him other than he is a Derby entry and is related to a couple of winners. His pedigree suggests a mile is a good starting point for him, and Ed has his horses in good form at the moment.

4.35pm Doncaster

Theodorico

His defeat of Burnt Sugar over 7f at Thirsk last month reads very well now, though he has to bounce back from a modest run at Haydock last week and this will be the shortest distance he has ever raced over. But I don’t think the trip will be an issue, he has been eased 1lb for that last run, a bit of cut suits him well enough, and a reproduction of that Thirsk win gives him definite chances.

5.10pm Doncaster

Turning Gold

I’m not sure what went wrong at Newmarket last time, perhaps he just ran a bit flat after four relatively quick runs. He has had a good break since and hopefully he can return to his best here. He isn’t obviously well handicapped now though, as he is 16lb higher than when winning at Yarmouth, and this trip is an unknown and must be a doubt on breeding. But he has been freshened up and acts on any ground, so let’s see how he gets on.
