Indie rock legends the Pixies once sung about the Olympus mons, a vast mountain on Mars that frontman Frank Black dreamed of exploring in the guise of a bird.

Technically, it doesn’t have much to do with today’s slot review, but it is a brilliant song and your day would be improved immeasurably by listening to it right now.

Be that as it may, Rise of the Mountain King is another mountain-themed diversion from dull reality that might also cheer you up this week.

Set in the midst of the forbidding Norwegian mountains, the King himself might look like some manner of mythical beastie, but this is otherwise a very handsome five-reel release from SG Digital.

A high volatility slot with a couple of stand out features, first up there’s the King’s Re-Spin. The Re-Spin will begin if three or more Wilds land on the display, with Wins from the initial spin being paid before the Re-Spin takes place.

Kings Reels will spin over all the symbol positions as an overlay, giving the player the possibility of big wins as the reels fill up with Wild symbols. Any new wilds that appear during the Re-spin will be held in place while the feature is in play.

There’s also a Rise of the Multiplier feature that’s sure to grab your interest. When three, four or five scatters appear on the reels, the player will receive 8,9 or 10 Free Games, respectively.
