Premier League preview: Sunday’s action including Arsenal vs Liverpool

Premier League preview: Sunday’s action including Arsenal vs Liverpool

Crystal Palace vs Leeds

Patrick Vieira’s Palace have only won one league game so far this season. Can they produce a timely victory against a Leeds side that haven’t claimed a win since their shock 3-0 win over Chelsea back in August?

With neither side’s recent performances leaving us brimming with confidence, maybe it’s worth placing your focus elsewhere. Five or more cards have been shown in four of Leeds’ last five games in all comps. You can back over 4.5 cards in the Total Cards market at 31/20.

West Ham vs Fulham

With Fulham’s star striker Aleksandar Mitrovic a doubt with an ankle injury, this might be a pretty good time to play the Cottagers.

West Ham’s own main goal threat looks to be Gianluca Scamacca; the Italian has been excellent in the Europa Conference League, scoring four goals in five appearances. The latest of those came on Thursday against Anderlecht; prior to that, last weekend the Irons striker also netted against Wolves in the Prem.

Scamacca is surely West Ham’s best chance of finding the net on Sunday. The former Sassuolo man is 21/4 to open the scoring – as he’s done in his last two outings.

Arsenal vs Liverpool

Arsenal have won nine of their last ten; an aura of swaggering confidence surrounds squad and support alike. Still, the north London club do have a habit of dropping a clanger against the biggest opponents.

Against Liverpool in particular, the Gunners have failed to score a single goal in their last six meetings in all competitions with the Merseyside team.

That pathetic run should surely end here – if only because Liverpool are struggling, at least by their own mighty standards.

Seven league games in, Jurgen Klopp’s team have won just twice. After campaigns where Liverpool players strained every sinew, now many of those same players seem drained.

For all that, Arsenal are still to prove they’re the real deal; they lost to Man Utd a few weeks ago, after all. But victory here will reassure Gunners fans that the side are bona fide title challengers (you know, if they can put Erling Haaland out of their minds).

The hosts are 31/20 to win, and Liverpool have not travelled well this season (four away games in all competitions, two draws, two losses). We’re buying into the Gunners in a big way – back them to win on Sunday.

While you’re at it, Gabriel Jesus is crying out to be backed to score; so far, he’s played in four home games in the Prem for the Gunners and scored in three of them. Jesus is 11/2 to grab the opener.

Everton vs Man Utd

The Toffees are unbeaten in six league games, have won their last two – and have established themselves, somewhat improbably, as the best defence in the Premier League with just seven goals conceded.

Erik Ten Hag might be the manager to revive Man Utd’s fortunes in the long term, but there’s been a few setbacks in the last week. It could be worth taking the visitors on; Everton or the Draw in the Double Chance market is a 10/13 shot.
