Premier League preview: Sunday’s action including Man City vs Arsenal

Brighton vs Nottingham Forest

Brighton have established themselves as a team who punch above their weight in the Premier League. But Nottingham Forest turned over Liverpool at Anfield last week; Nuno Espirito Santo is being lauded for the job he’s done since taking over.

Forest have won their last four away games in the Prem too. Can they pull a similar trick (no pun intended) on the Seagulls? Ipswich kept it goalless at the Amex last week, after all…

Two or fewer goals have been scored in each of the five games Forest have played in all competitions this season. Nuno is unlikely to want to deviate from that script on Sunday. Under 2.5 goals is an evens shot. Alternatively, you could back the 1-1 scoreline at 11/2, which has already cropped up a few times this season for the Tricky Trees.

Man City vs Arsenal

City and Erling Haaland have started the season in explosive fashion. But this week’s goalless encounter with Inter in the Champions League was a bit of a dud.

Does that offer hope to Mikel Arteta’s men – or just mean the Manchester side are saving their best for Sunday? Like City, the Gunners’ Champions League campaign against Atalanta also started with an unexceptional nil-nil on Thursday.

Arsenal’s trip to the Etihad is probably going to be an exercise in caution for the visitors. City have often spanked the Gunners during Pep Guardiola’s reign, but last season’s two league meetings yielded one goal (at the Emirates, Arsenal winning on that occasion).

Maybe Haaland will continue to add to his outstanding goal haul – he has nine in his last four league matches – but Guardiola would surely be content with a 1-0 win. You can back that outcome at 21/4, or give yourself a little extra wiggle room by backing City to win and BTTS No in a double at 17/10.
