Scarlett Moffatt heads I’m A Celeb betting…
We’re one week into the latest series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! and if you’re looking for a betting angle on ITV’s scintillating slice of celebrity torture, Scarlett Moffatt remains the clear favourite.
Moffatt shot to fame in meta-reality show Gogglebox, a show based on the premise of watching a tv programme where people watch tv programmes. Now the one-time wannabe beautician heads the betting in the biggest show on the box – but if you want to look past Scarlett, there are other realistic alternatives who could be crowned King or Queen of the jungle.
Martin Roberts probably isn’t one of them, though. The new addition to the camp has already had a bit of a falling out with Moffatt and Danny Baker. Homes Under The Hammer star Roberts broke down in tears after cockney motormouth Baker told him to pull his finger out; since joining, Roberts has proved reluctant to follow Moffatt’s orders, even though she’s the President of the camp.
Roberts’ distaste for eating rice and beans hasn’t endeared him to the rest of the group either. That said, maybe the other celebs should cut Marty some slack – he did win eight stars from a possible 12 for the group earlier in the day, after all (though he’s not been shy about mentioning it…).
Nonetheless, at 40/1 Roberts is definitely a longshot here. Baker himself is 15/1, but maybe Larry Lamb is a decent shout; the one-time EastEnders actor has been an avuncular presence on the show, helping Scarlett get through some tricky moments and generally being a good egg. He’s currently the second favourite to win at 6/1.
The 69-year-old Lamb took a tumble in the middle of the night earlier this week, tripping over the slumped body of Baker, who had moved away from Roberts in order to avoid his excessively noisy snoring. Luckily Lamb was fine after the fall, despite a bit of effing and jeffing; but could the Baker-Roberts spat be traced back to something as mundane as a snore? Tensions are clearly running high in the jungle this week…
