The hunt for the greatest burger in Las Vegas
Las Vegas does a lot of things right. Casinos, night-clubs, pool parties, it’s all good. But jet all the way to Sin City without sampling some of the city’s very best burgers, and you’ll be kicking yourself.
Whether you’re heading to Vegas soon or you just like to plan ahead, we’ve tracked down the ultimate in tasty menus…
The Fleur Burger 5,000 at Fleur by Hubert Keller, Mandalay Bay resort
One for the gourmet, this is the choice for anyone who takes their burgers seriously – but be warned, this is fine dining, not a quick stop-off at your local joint.
Even the name of the restaurant sounds less like somewhere to get some grub, and more like a poncey men’s fragrance – and that’s no accident. As the name implies, it’ll set you back $5,000 to eat this beast of a burger – but if you can handle the price (not to mention the high-class restaurant vibe), you’ll discover that this burger means business.
Order this top-of-the-line item and you’ll enjoy a toothsome dish made up of Wagyu beef, along with a dressing of foie gras and truffles – plus a bottle of 1995 Chateau Petrus 5000.
We’re burger fiends, not wine connoisseurs, so you might as well ply us with a bottle of Blue Nun as far as we’re concerned – but apparently the ’95 is an exceptionally good (and expensive) wine. Sadly, no word on whether you can supersize the meal for bigger portions…
K.I.K. burger, LVB Burgers & Bar at the Mirage
Fortunately, you don’t have to win big at the casino to afford every burger on this list. Next up is the far more affordable K.I.K. (Kick in the Kisser) burger.
This spicy number offers a chunky burger that you’ll struggle to take a bite of, stacked high as it is with avocado, onion straws, pepperjack cheese, Sriracha aioli sauce and a fried egg. You’ll find some fine milkshakes here too – some of which include alcohol, if you’re looking to maintain that Vegas buzz…
Old Homestead Steakhouse, Caesar’s Palace
The name might tell you that this joint specialises in standard steaks, but the burgers at this iconic Vegas location are pretty awesome too.
The fries cooked in duck fat are tasty enough, but it’s the 10oz burger that’ll have you really licking your lips, with delicious Pat LaFrieda beef in a brioche bun, complimented with foie gras butter, aged cheddar cheese and delicious caramelised onions. Definitely worth investigating…
Holsteins Shakes and Buns, Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas
Try the Gold-Standard here and you’ll be greeted with a scrumptious beef sirloin meat patty topped off with smoked bacon, goat’s cheese, tomato confit – with a side order of french fries, naturally.
The food here is renowned as some of the tastiest you’ll find in all of Nevada, but even if you don’t go ballistic for burgers there’s plenty more to keep you busy – Holstein’s also has a wide range delicious shakes.
If you prefer, the craft ales are pretty good too – the recommended beverage for this particular burger is a foaming flagon of rogue hazelnut brown. Don’t mind if we do…
