We sponsored Aston Villa between 2006 and 2008, at a time when respected manager Martin O’Neill was overseeing the side. Indeed, at the close of the 2007-08 season, the West Midlands club finished in sixth place in the Premier League.
Having won the top tier of English football on seven occasions, and clinching the European Cup against Bayern Munich in 1972, the Villans are a real slumbering giant of English football. But while they currently play in the Championship, the Birmingham side are looking to the future under the guidance of manager and noted author Steve Bruce.
We also sponsored then Championship side Swansea City between 2008 and 2011, the club challenging convincingly for promotion in each of those three seasons.
With Brendan Rodgers managing the side, Swansea finally clinched promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs at the end of the 2010-11 season. The side have enjoyed a fruitful spell in the Prem ever since, then-manager Gary Monk steering the side to an eighth place finish at the close of the 2014-15 season. The club are currently led by American coach Bob Bradley, the first ever US manager to take charge of a Premier League side.
