I rode him over 3m at Cheltenham last time and he ran well, seeing out his first attempt at the trip well enough. His earlier form tells you he is fully effective at this shorter distance and he is gradually slipping down the weights, too. Hopefully he has come down to a winnable mark again and he has good course and distance form as well; I think he has definite place claims, and maybe better, at what should be a decent price, I imagine.
Fergal Mael Duin
He has run poorly on his last two starts, though the upside is that he has come down 3lb in the weights. That leaves him just 1lb higher than when second in the Southern National at Fontwell in November, form on which would give him a leading chance here. And he had earlier won for me over 2m5f at that track, so this trip should be fine. If the cheekpieces spark him back into life then he has chances.
