Paddy Brennan

Five-time Cheltenham Festival-winning jockey Paddy Brennan, 35, became a household name when he rode Imperial Commander to win the Cheltenham Gold Cup in 2010. Having endured a quieter period thereafter, the 2015-16 season saw Paddy’s stock rise in meteoric fashion once again. Having secured the ride on the ever-popular Cue Card, the pair notched up three Grade One victories last season, including the now-32Red King George VI Chase on Boxing Day. Only a dramatic fall three from home in the Cheltenham Gold Cup stopped Brennan and Cue Card from securing the £1m Triple Crown. That fall was the only blot in an otherwise stellar season as Paddy also rode Tom George’s God’s Own to Grade One victories in the Melling Chase at Aintree and the Champion Chase at Punchestown, those victories cementing by far his best season to date. He has started the current season in great form.
