I’m playing in the Unibet Injured Jockeys’ Fund football match on Wednesday.
Come along if you can, especially as there are at least a couple of players on the other side that I have been looking to sort out for a while.
Joking aside, it’s a great cause, and hopefully I can get there having ridden a winner or two beforehand.
He comes here in great form, having won at Market Rasen and Stratford. This handicap obviously has more depth and he has gone up 12lb for those wins, but he arrives here at the top of his game, the ground will suit – if it gets quicker, it will suit him more than others – and he won at this meeting last season.
He may have needed it at Kelso last month, his first run since having a wind op. And he goes well here, including when a good third at this meeting last season. He hasn’t raced over further than 3m1f before, but I believe this has been the plan for a while.
