Copper West

He obviously didn’t run up to his best at Huntingdon for me on his reappearance but he was probably entitled to need his first run since June. It’s slightly disappointing to see the handicapper leave him on the same mark I suppose, but he would certainly enter calculations here on his Southwell second in the summer. Trip and ground look fine, and I expect him to improve for the Huntingdon run. Furthermore, I think he will be better going back left-handed, and I think Wetherby will be perfect for him.

She obviously ran well on a few occasions last season but things just didn’t drop right for her. So it was great to see her get back on the scoresheet at Worcester last month, where she beat a decent Flat recruit of Paul Nicholls by 15 lengths. I was extremely impressed. Clearly, this is a step up in grade and she is wrong with a couple at the weights – though this race has really cut up, mind you – but she was a very good bumper horse and hopefully she can kick on from Worcester now. I think she is a lot better than a 122-rated mare, and we are very happy to give it a go.
