Premier League preview: Man City vs Brentford

Premier League preview: Man City vs Brentford

Erling Haaland had an off-day last time out against Chelsea, with Man City drawing 1-1 with the west London club. Can the hulking Norwegian atone for failing to hit his usual sky-high standards with a towering performance against Brentford?

Well, if he doesn’t, surely somebody will find the target for City. The Bees have already lost one league encounter with Pep Guardiola’s side this month – City won 3-1 – though Brentford can take some comfort from the fact that they were victorious in this fixture last season, surprisingly.

The match finished 2-1 on that occasion; is a similar upset a possibility once more this week? City haven’t even lost a home game yet this season; the Manchester team couldn’t meet their usual standards against Chelsea, but this looks a pretty good chance for the hosts to resume normal service.

Brentford have three wins in their last 13 league games, and it’s easy to see this finishing in fairly routine style for the hosts.

One way to get a decent-ish price would be to combine backing over 3.5 goals with BTTS YES in a double – that gets you 33/20. Despite that iffy win record, Brentford have found the net in 10 of their last 11 league games. And City may be in the mood to score a few, following this weekend’s frustrations.
