Premier League preview: Sheffield United vs Arsenal

Premier League preview: Sheffield United vs Arsenal

Away to Sheffield United on Monday night, it’s difficult to see any other outcome but the Gunners taking care of business.

Mikel Arteta’s side are on a six-game winning streak in the Prem, a run that has seen them score 25 goals and concede just three. They’ve won their last two away matches 6-0 against West Ham, and 5-0 against Burnley.

All that said, even if Arsenal had only just been scraping by, you’d still fancy them to get the better of Chris Wilder’s team.

Sheffield United’s recent record is like a grim parody of the Gunners, having won one of their last 10 in the Prem. The Blades’ last two home games have each ended 5-0 to the visitors, Aston Villa and Brighton.

Further evidence for the extreme likelihood of Arsenal winning this game is probably unnecessary. But in this fixture in 2021, Arsenal won their visit to Bramall Lane 3-0. And when the sides met earlier this season, it was 5-0 at the Emirates.

It’s difficult to see a reason why the visitors won’t romp to a similarly straightforward win on Monday. Backing over 3.5 goals looks a decent possibility at 11/10.

If you want to take your cues from recent history – Sheffield United’s and Arsenal’s – you can take the Gunners to win 5-0 at 15/1, and 6-0 at 24/1. Or you could just put your trust in Bukayo Saka. He’s now scored seven goals in his last five league games, and is 23/25 to find the net here.
