Bryan Cooper: Shattered Love should go well, even with her 4lb penalty

I am seeing my specialist on Tuesday week, so hopefully I will get the all-clear then. But when I know more, you will.

1.10pm Fairyhouse

We have Monbeg Rose in here. She was a fair hurdler, winning at Thurles for me and being Listed-placed in this type of ground, but she hasn’t really shone over fences to date. She certainly has the ability to be winning a race of this nature but clearly she has to improve in this sphere.

1.45pm Fairyhouse

You can give most of these a chance of sorts but our Thunder And Roses is one of the highest-rated in here and he would probably be the one to beat on his Fairyhouse second in December, and he certainly didn’t run badly in the Thyestes last time either.  Testing ground suits him well.

2.50pm Fairyhouse

There doesn’t look to be a stand-out performer in this Grade 3 and Shattered Love should go well even with her 4lb penalty. Her task was made easier when Asthuria fell 3 out at Thurles last time but she could only do what she did and she had earlier shaped really well for me when second to Let’s Dance, and we all saw what the winner did last weekend. Conditions should be fine for her, though she is effective on good ground, too. It could be between her and Asthuria.

3.25pm Fairyhouse

The Comedeologist has shown a bit of ability in his three starts and is up to winning a maiden but he clearly has to improve a fair deal to get the better of the likes of Chirico Vallis and I imagine there is a fair bit more to come from Willie’s Bleu Berry as well.

4.00pm Fairyhouse

I have ridden Calin Des Ongrais a couple of times, finishing second on him in this type of ground at Navan last year, and he ran a good race when second at that track over this trip last time.  He has gone up 3lb but he clearly has a leading chance in an open race.

4.30pm Fairyhouse

This looks a fair mares Listed bumper and Monastery comes to back to this sphere after running over hurdles here last time. She ran okay there but she has earlier looked a decent prospect when winning a Limerick bumper the time before, and I imagine Gordon will be delighted if she got in the frame here. Willie’s Punchestown winner Redhotfillypeppers has a big reputation.
