I don’t know a lot about him but he seems to be a graduate from points in Ireland, where he had a lot of experience and won his final start in that sphere. Things don’t look to have gone his way in hurdles this season but hopefully there is more to come from him.

Miss Night Owl

She signed off for last season with wide-margin wins at Ludlow and Perth, and she carried on the good work on her reappearance at Stratford last month. And she had to show she could battle there, taking that handicap hurdle by a short-head following a fair old tussle after the last. That will hopefully have brought her on again and give her each-way claims in a competitive Listed race. Obviously, a place here will be important with her breeding options in mind.

Double Shuffle

He really improved for the step up to this trip last season, winning a valuable handicap at Kempton over Christmas and then finding only one good off a 6lb higher mark in the Betbright over the same course and distance, where a bad mistake 3 out was maybe the difference between victory and defeat. So, with that in mind, you had to be very encouraged by his comeback run over 2m3f at Chepstow last month. I certainly was. He ran well for a long way – as he did in the Grand National back in April – and he clearly bumped into a well-handicapped horse that day, and one who has won since, too. This is obviously a big step up in class for him and he needs to improve a good deal to beat the likes of a Cue Card and Coneygree, but we hope the potential is there for him to be competitive at this level this season.

Boyhood

We haven’t seen him since Bangor in March, where he ran below form after we stepped up in distance. He is now back to the trip that he won well over from a subsequent winner at Doncaster last November. He is a horse that has gone well fresh for us in the past and we like to think there is more to come from this lightly-raced 6yo now that he has had another summer to mature.
