Champions League semi-final preview: Borussia Dortmund vs Paris Saint-Germain
Dortmund didn’t warm up for this one in the most confidence-inspiring fashion. Edin Terzic’s side lost 4-1 away to RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga on Saturday.
The German side have won just five of the 10 Champions League matches they’ve played so far in this campaign. They’ve already faced Paris Saint-Germain twice in the group stage – failing to win either encounter.

Still, they’ve gotten this far, and it may be a mistake to write off their chances, even against the illustrious PSG. Luis Enrique’s team wrapped up the Ligue 1 Championship at the weekend, even if they could only draw 3-3 with Le Havre.
The French side’s fortunes probably depend upon whether their key man Kylian Mbappe turns up. Mbappe scored twice against Barcelona in the quarter-final at the Camp Nou earlier this month.
He also found the net when these sides met at the Parc des Princes back in September. In fact, Mbappe is currently the competition’s top scorer this season with eight goals so far.
Still, if Dortmund are obvious underdogs, they are unbeaten in their last 10 home games in the Champions League.
As well as draws against PSG and Milan in this campaign, the Bundesliga side also beat Newcastle 2-0 in the group stage. Since then they’ve turned over PSV Eindhoven 2-0 at Signal Iduna Park in the round of 16, before overcoming Atletico Madrid 4-2 at home in the quarter-finals.
With Dortmund excelling at home, at least during recent CL matches, this one’s tough to call; perhaps backing goals is a better way to go. PSG’s two games against Barca each featured five goals apiece, while Dortmund can surely find the net on home turf. Over 3.5 goals is a 5/4 shot.
