Duke Of Hazzard
It looks a very good Listed race, as you would expect for this kind of money, and the English have five credible contenders. Duke Of Hazzard is bang up there form-wise, and I reckon this step up to a mile for the first time will suit him. He finished third in the Chesham, was second in a hot little novice at Salisbury and then he finally got off the mark at Goodwood when beating a couple of fancied newcomers, it seems. It is the first time I have ridden him but he looks an uncomplicated horse, and hopefully one who is still improving.
Mrs Sippy is up against some smart fillies in here, most obviously French Oaks runner-up Musis Amica, but I think you can give her a proper chance. Her Newbury second to Sea Of Class obviously looks even better now that the winner has gone to land the Irish Oaks, and she again travelled well for a long way when fourth over 1m4f in Lancashire Oaks. The step back to 1m2f will suit her, and I definitely think we haven’t seen the best of her yet. Hopefully, she will get a decent pace to aim at.
