His recent hurdling form wouldn’t fill you with confidence but he is on a fair mark on the Flat and David’s horses have been in great form ; I have been lucky enough to ride a couple of winners for him recently, so let’s hope this is another. Like I said, his recent runs over hurdles haven’t been great but he wasn’t beaten far in the Lincoln Trial for me at Wolverhampton in March. That was his only Flat start for David since the horse joined him from Jim Bolger – where he had smart form, and beat Order Of St George in a Listed race at two – so maybe he isn’t the outsider many people believe, and this race has really cut up at the overnight stage.. The quick ground and trip are unknowns, though.
