Paddy Brennan: He has a better chance than his comeback run suggests

1.30pm Aintree

Fine Theatre

He is probably among the outsiders, but you can give him each-way claims at a big price. He shaped pretty well over hurdles over 2m6f on his reappearance in October, and the return to fences on deep ground over a longer trip should suit him a lot more. He is 2lb out of the weights but he has run well off this kind of mark in the past, and his usual tongue-tie is back on here.

3.15pm Aintree

Brandon Hill

He was beaten a long way on his reappearance here over 3m1f on good ground in October but hopefully he will be a different proposition in much softer conditions with that run under his belt. He has also been dropped 2lb for it. He is now 3lb lower than when placed in decent handicaps at Kempton last season, and all of his wins have come on soft ground, so he has a better chance than that comeback run suggests. This trip will be ideal in testing conditions he loves.
