She showed ability from 1m2f-1m6f on the Flat but, after a promising hurdling debut at Fontwell, she didn’t run to that level of form next time out at Stratford. She is better than that, though clearly this is a very stiff task for her and heavy ground is an unknown. But this is a Listed hurdle and if she can nick a bit of black type, then job done.
He ticks all the boxes bar the ground. I have always said that this horse has a big race in him, and hopefully this is it. He has been specifically trained for it, I can tell you that much. He had a wind op prior to winning at Perth and he would have been second at Chepstow on his return had he not made a big mistake at the third last. We think he has improved for that run but the big issue is the heavy ground. We thought last season that didn’t play to his strengths, so that is the worry.
