Premier League preview: Saturday’s action including Crystal Palace vs West Ham

Crystal Palace vs West Ham

After a flurry of initial excitement, are Palace back to plodding along with Hodgson at the helm? The side have drawn blanks in their last two matches while West Ham have looked quite lively of late.

Still, with the Eagles scoring nine goals in their first three games since Roy’s return, maybe it’s unwise to think they won’t be able to find the net on Saturday.

Funnily enough, in the last two seasons this fixture has ended in a 3-2 win for the Irons. If you like a longshot, it’s 35/1 to come up again this week.

Even if that seems a stretch, meetings between these teams are generally good for goals; 13 of the last 17 encounters between these sides have seen at least three scored. Over 2.5 goals is an 11/8 shot.

Brentford vs Nottingham Forest

With five goals in their last two matches – against quality opposition, too – are Forest mounting a late bid to drag themselves free of the threat of relegation?

Steve Cooper’s side beat Brighton last time out, and scored twice at Anfield too. Maybe they can keep the momentum going, at least to some degree at Griffin Park.

Brentford might have turned over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge earlier this week, but playing at home the Bees have won just once in five attempts. The Tricky Trees could get something here, and the draw is a 3/1 shot.

Brighton vs Wolves

It’s been a dispiriting few days for the Seagulls. But after losing on the road to Forest midweek Roberto De Zerbi will be determined that his side rediscover their will to win at the Amex.

The visitors won’t make it easy however; Julen Lopetegui’s side have lost just one of their last five league games.  They’ve won their last three at home without conceding, and will aim to frustrate the hosts – who’ve had their fair share of frustration already in the last week.

A low scoring game may be on the cards. Under 2.5 goals is an Evens bet.
