Premier League preview: Sheffield Utd vs Brighton, Luton vs Man Utd
Sheffield Utd vs Brighton
The Blades shipped five goals against Brighton just three weeks ago in the FA Cup – but could Chris Wilder possibly turn this reunion into an opportunity for some kind of retribution?
The South Yorkshire side actually come into this one in relatively upbeat mood, having won last time out away to Luton. Prior to that, Sheffield United were winless in seven league games though. They’ve won just three matches in the campaign to date.
Brighton have been somewhat erratic, though – and haven’t won an away game in the Prem in six attempts. Is it worth taking a chance on the Seagulls having to settle for a point here?
Could be – that’s how it ended in the reverse fixture, after all. What’s more, Brighton are yet to win against this side in the Prem, having played them on five previous occasions. The draw is a 7/2 shot.
Luton vs Man Utd
Hats off to the Hatters, smashing four goals past Newcastle, having smashed four past Brighton a week earlier – and then getting banjaxed in their own backyard by sorry old Sheffield United. What in the world?
Luton are clearly willing to mix it up against anybody – but that doesn’t mean they can’t get caught out. Will the hosts rediscover the formula that’s made Kenilworth Road such a fortress on occasion this season, as a reinvigorated Man Utd drop by, looking to extend their recent three-game winning run?
The Red Devils probably will get the job done, but the odds-on price reflects that. At the risk of running a good thing into the ground, instead I’ll take a chance on Rasmus Hojlund to continue his sparkling form for United.
Hojlund has now scored in five league games on the bounce, and is 13/10 to find the net here.
