Premier League preview: Sunday’s action including Luton vs Liverpool

Nottingham Forest vs Aston Villa

Forest have only won twice so far this season. Can they improve that record against a Villa side that’s unbeaten in six league games?

Unai Emery’s side won five of those matches; and while the Villans are especially impressive playing at home, they’ve fared pretty well on the road too.

Villa’s only losses in this campaign have come against Newcastle and Liverpool; away from Villa Park, they’ve defeated Burnley and Chelsea so far.

Still, Forest have a decent record at the City Ground, with just two defeats in their last 19 games; Steve Cooper’s side have drawn their last three at home.

This could be more of the same, and backing the draw at 13/5 looks enticing.

Luton vs Liverpool

Luton have been beaten at home by Spurs, Burnley, and West Ham so far this season. So the theory that a visit to Kenilworth Road could serve as a banana skin doesn’t really hold water.

Not unexpectedly, the Hatters are having a tough go of it in the Prem. Meanwhile, Liverpool have had some setbacks, but broadly speaking Jurgen Klopp’s side are having a good season. Anything but a win for the visitors seems a stretch this week.

The odds reflect that, of course. One approach could be to back Cody Gakpo to score for the visitors, though. Gakpo has four goals in his last seven games in all comps; three of those have come on the road.  The Dutchman is flying; back Gak at 42/20 to find the net on Sunday.
