Premier League preview: Tuesday’s action including Leeds vs Leicester

Premier League preview: Tuesday’s action including Leeds vs Leicester

Wolves vs Crystal Palace

Wolves were turned over by Leicester at the weekend, the Foxes earning their first Prem win in ten attempts. But Julen Lopetegui’s side have been pretty decent on home turf.

The Old Gold have won three of their last four at Molineux. The exception was admittedly a bit of a head-scratcher, Leeds winning 4-2 in a chaotic match far removed from Wolves’ usual scorelines.

The Midlands team kept clean sheets in recent home wins over Brentford, Chelsea and Tottenham. Will they be able to keep Crystal Palace at bay in similar style on Tuesday?

Palace may have shown a new lease of life since Roy Hodgson’s redux. But the goals dried up on Saturday, as the Eagles played out a nil-nil draw with Everton.

Palace can look to recent results against Wolves as a source of positivity; the South London side have won each of their last four meetings with the club.

But with Wolves facing some tricky sides in the remaining games of the season, Lopetegui will be aware his team could still get dragged into a relegation battle. This looks a winnable game for the hosts, who are 13/10 to take the win. You can bolster that by adding BTTS No in a double, at 23/10.

Aston Villa vs Fulham

Villa are unbeaten in nine Prem games, and have won their last four home games without conceding.

Fulham have picked up a couple of wins against struggling sides after a discouraging run. The Cottagers are not to be taken lightly, but on the current evidence Unai Emery’s side can still overpower the visitors.

Combining Villa to win and under 3.5 goals at 29/20 could pay off – it’s a bet that would have come off in Villa’s last four home games.

Leeds vs Leicester

Neither of these sides have offered punters much cause for confidence in recent weeks. But at least Leicester won last time out – after a wretched sequence of eight defeats in nine matches.

Taking a different tack, Leeds have conceded 11 goals in their last two home games. The club lost to Fulham in less eye-catching fashion at the weekend, going down 2-1 at Craven Cottage. Still, manager Javi Gracia may well be eying this fixture with trepidation, given recent scorelines at Elland Road.

With that in mind, it could be worth backing goals – and over 3.5 is a 37/20 shot.

Otherwise, perhaps Leicester’s Harvey Barnes is worth backing to net for the visitors. He’s missed a couple of games through injury, but Foxes boss Dean Smith says he is making good progress and could figure here.

And Barnes has a crazy good record against Leeds, scoring a goal in each of his last five appearances against the West Yorkshire side. Barnes is 29/10 to score at any time – or 15/2 to score the opener, which might be worth a look if the 25-year-old starts.
