He was a decent 90-rated Flat on the horse, and he progressed throughout last season for us, winning three and putting up his best effort when winning at Stratford. I suppose you could say that they weren’t the most competitive of novice hurdles and he has to bounce back from a modest reappearance run at Chepstow, but I think he shaped a fair bit better than it looked there. He was badly hampered at the first, and that knocked his confidence for the rest of the race. I thought the handicapper may drop us a pound or two for that run, but he hasn’t, and, anyway, I would hope he will more competitive here with that run under his belt. And the horses are running well.
