He appreciated the step back up to this sort of trip in soft ground at Huntingdon last time and did it really nicely for me there. I know he has gone up 10lb but the runner-up Mr Antolini did go on to win the Imperial Cup earlier in the month, and we were 10 lengths clear of the third. He must go well if in the same form here, and he has run a couple of decent races at this course, too.

He has run two excellent races over 3m here of late, going up 2lb for his recent start, but I think the step down in trip is worth trying, especially for a nice prize like this. He comes here in good form, goes well at the track and on the ground and hopefully a strongly-run race here will bring his stamina into play. In fact, I will be one of those helping to make it a strong pace and I am really looking forward to riding this enthusiastic front runner.
