Carl Frampton joins 32Red as ambassador

Multi-fight agreement sees Northern Ireland’s first two-weight world champion team up with leading online casino 32Red, to add further strength to its boxing sponsorship portfolio

32Red, part of the Kindred Group, are delighted to announce a multi-fight deal with Carl Frampton to become an ambassador for their online casino brand. As part of the agreement, Frampton will provide regular content for the 32Red blog and social channels.

The deal, which kicks off with this Saturday’s ‘Frampton Reborn’ card from The SSE Arena in Belfast, will cover Frampton’s fights under his new promotional agreement with Frank Warren, shows which 32Red are also event sponsor.

Carl Frampton is Northern Ireland’s first two-weight world champion having held the unified WBA Super and IBF super-bantamweight titles, before moving up to featherweight to capture the WBA Super crown in 2016. This unprecedented feat also led to The Ring Magazine, ESPN and the Boxing Writers Association of America all naming Frampton as their 2016 Fighter of the Year.

Frampton is now looking to position himself for a huge 2018 by defeating the tough Mexican, Horacio Garcia, this weekend. Victory would open up the possibility of a rubber-match with previous two-time opponent Leo Santa Cruz or a domestic showdown with either IBF champion Lee Selby or fellow 32Red ambassador Josh Warrington.

The Frampton Reborn card is the first time Frampton has fought in Belfast since his fifth-round stoppage of Chris Avalos in 2015 and his homecoming has led to arguably the highest calibre boxing event Northern Ireland has ever seen being staged. The undercard will feature two world title fights as Jamie Conlan challenges Jerwin Ancajas for the IBF Super Flyweight title and Bantamweight Zolani Tete will defend his WBO championship against South-African Siboniso Gonya. Also on the under-card is two-time Olympic medallist and fellow Belfast fighter Paddy Barnes.

Gerry Murray, Director of Brand & Acquisition at 32Red, commented: “All of us at 32Red are delighted to have the opportunity to work with Carl during what could be the most exciting period of his career.”

“We have a successful existing partnership with Carl’s new promoter Frank Warren and when the opportunity presented itself to take that to the next level by adding him as an ambassador, it was something we jumped at.”

“32Red is all about providing quality and excitement for our customers and those are attributes which perfectly match what Carl brings to the table. His career up to this point has already seen some incredible highs, but with the potential for further domestic super-fights and a decider with Leo Santa Cruz next year, we feel the timing is perfect for us to get on-board.”

Carl Frampton said: “I’m excited to be sharing the next stage of my career with 32Red, a brand who have a long history of supporting top quality sport and boxing in particular. I’m looking forward to working with them in what is such a great time for boxing and especially for me.”

“My focus is now on winning back a world title at Featherweight and then becoming a 3-weight world champion at Super-Featherweight and I am thankful to have 32Red’s support as I look to achieve that.”
