Jamie Spencer: She has the best form
Four horses interest me on Thursday, and the first is Communique in the opener at 1.50pm.
He looked very good when winning the London Gold Cup at Newbury, traditionally one of the strongest 3yo handicaps of the season, and he put two modest runs behind him when winning at Newmarket last time.
He has gone up 5lb for that narrow win but he overcame trouble in running to win there, and the runner-up is well thought of, so I think his mark remains workable.
God Given has the best form going into the Lillie Langtry at 2.25pm, and her pedigree suggests the extra 2f should be okay for her.
She comes here after a career-best when just touched off by Horseplay in the Lancashire Oaks last time, and a reproduction of that form over this trip should see her go close.
Neverland Rock travelled well for a long way when third to Quorto in the Superlative Stakes over 7f at Newmarket last time, and I like the angle of him coming back to 6f for the Richmond Stakes at 3pm.
You can make a case of sorts for all the six runners in the Nassau Stakes at 3.35pm but Wild Illusion just gets my vote.
She has been running well over a mile and 1m4f this season, and perhaps this 1m2f trip could be her optimum.
